KEYSTONE provides a rock solid foundation for mounting all the accessories required for ambitious builds and demanding workflows — dovetail plates, rod mounts, handgrips, transmitters, monitors, MDRs, and EXT Breakouts!

It's built for all shooting styles — handheld and studio rigs, to gimbal, aerial and precision cinema robotics.

KEYSTONE Chopped is almost identical to our full KEYSTONE for V-RAPTOR. Where it differs is the roof!

The top section has been chopped to reveal the V-RAPTOR pogo pins and allows space for the RMI (RED Monitor Interface). We also stock RED RMI Cables!

FAQ

To provide space for the RMI.

The only way V-RAPTOR can communicate with the DSMC3 RED Touch 7.0" is via the pogo pins housed inside the RMI.

Unfortunately the USB-C at the rear of the camera does not support this monitor. The port is designed for RCP2 control and network connectivity for remote media offloading.

The RMI module also features a non-removable rod mount with integrated USB-C. Stopping any chance of mounting a Camera Top Plate.

Due the these limitations, the large size of RMI, and the popularity of the monitor, we decided to design an alternative KEYSTONE to ensure our customers are supported and have rigging flexibility in the field.

It sure does!

A combination of KEYSTONE Chopped, RMI spacer, Camera Top Plate and Gimbal Mate, creates a 192mm tall camera package.

This height fits within MōVI Pro, MōVI XL and Ronin 2 without any modification.

For those looking to mount the RED Touch 7.0" LCD on a gimbal ring, make sure you use this cable: DSMC3 RMI USB-C Cable 39-inch

If you're using the DSMC3 RED Touch 7.0", then KEYSTONE Chopped is the one for you.

If you're using a SmallHD Cine7, PortKeys BM5 or other standard SDI monitors, then we recommend the 'full' KEYSTONE.

HOW ABOUT PORTRAIT RIGGING?

Not a problem.

This is a unique feature of KEYSTONE and KEYSTONE Chopped.

For those inevitable portrait projects, simply mount our camera plates on the sides.

There's no need to purchase extra cables. All of our premium braided cables have adequate length for portrait rigging.

BUILT FOR LIFE ON SET

We stand behind our commitment to quality materials, processes and performance for our customers.

KEYSTONE Chopped starts life as a single block of 6061-T651 aluminium billet. Weighing in at 7.2lbs/3.3kg.

Our 4-axis CNC machining centres remove 90% of the aluminium. The waste chips are compressed by a briquette machine and recycled.

What's left is an extremely strong and lightweight product (8.7oz / 248g), resistant to bumps and knocks and will endure the most challenging conditions on set. 🎥 🔥

Designed, manufactured and quality controlled in Tasmania, Australia.
